one EPIC weekend!

This weekend was EPIC.  I met some new amazing people, who I love dearly and only met them yesterday

The weekend didn't start out well, Friday was just a BAD day and I was in the worst mood all day.  It gave a new meaning to TGIF!!!! If it wasn't Friday, I don't think I would have survived.

The heat lately has been BRUTAL.  There is no a/c so it makes everything worse.  I have been lucky enough to get a fan from Mummi and she was grateful enough to let me borrow it while I am here.

Friday night, we headed to the Fish in Nyon to bid farewell to another dear friend Dinah

We hung out at the Fish, lots of laughs, interesting conversations, and sitting by the lake.  When it was time for the patio to close and everyone had to go inside we headed up to the top of the hill.  On the way up we ended up meeting two guys Tom and Manny.  English speakers.  We sat at the top of the hill for a bit trying to decide what to do.  We ended up at a club that I still can't remember the name of.  I'm sure it will come to me, it's something like the sky top or the sky club, not sure.  We danced the night away.  It was amazingly fun.  Jumping around and dancing just having a good ol' time.  No worries in the world, or a care.  Just FUN.

A couple of us who were out until 2:00 in the morning were a little exhausted the from the night before headed out for another adventure, only to find out that this was one that we will NEVER ever forget.  It was Brittany's birthday so it was her day to choose what ever she wanted to do and we followed along :).  She rented paddle boats for an hour and we had to get 2, since there was 9 of us.  I met some pretty amazing people.  Anna from Northern Ireland, Gregor from Austria, Nicolo from Rome, Italy, and Daniel from London England, I only just met these four people on the weekend, but they turned out to be pretty amazing people and def. can't wait to hang out with them again.

By the end of the hour, we were all switched up with boats.  While paddle boating, we got caught in the current.  Daniel and I were paddling so hard that my legs went numb and we weren't going anywhere.  Eventually the people who run where we rented the paddle boats from saw that we were having trouble and they came to our rescue, and got us out of the current.  They brought us back and we just drifted to the shore.  After our hour was up on the boats, we headed to the English Garden for a picnic.  It was a lot of fun, tons of bread, lunch meat, pasta salad, chips, dips and wine!!!  One thing that I notice since coming to Switzerland, is I have been on more picnics then I have in a long time.  Before coming here, I don't remember the last time I had a picnic.  It seems here that they are very popular.  Everytime I walk through the garden, there are always people having picnics.  They are a lot cheaper then going to a restaurant and much more relaxing.  We were in the park for a good couple of hours.  We plays UNO which was a disaster, everyone plays the game differently so this time we played my Mattie's rules and it got pretty intense to say the least.

After the picnic, we watched the Geneva Lake Parade. It was AMAZING.  It was like pride. Different types of music on every float, HOT shirtless guys EVERYWHERE, and the entire city of Geneva dancing in the streets.  They closed pretty much the entire main street and it was FULL of people like I mean probably 10,000 people. All different types of people.

Once the parade was finished it had started to sprinkle and a storm was brewing in the distance, and there was lightning going on.  When we got to the Mont Blanc Bridge it was blocked off but people were allowed to walk on it.  It honestly looked like a scene from the movie War of the Worlds or 2012.  With the overcast and the garbage it was a perfect scene for a movie like that.

We headed back to Mattie's for a delicious and quick dinner and some rest.  We were all exhausted but the night was just beginning.  At this point we lost half of the group so all that was left was Mattie, Daniel, Anna, Ian, Brittany and me.  We ended up back at the Fish.  It's our favorite pub, no matter waht happens we always seem to end up there.  It was fun as always at the Fish.  Around 12, Renier (the bar tender) came out and said that the patio was now closed and we had to head into the pub if we were staying.  We all got together and headed back to the club. It was Brittany's birthday and she was not the slightest bit sober.  Infact, she was our entertainment for the evening.  Shr kept screaming IT'S MY BIRTHDAY in french so all the guys knew it was her birthday.  The club was yet again a lot of fun.  TONS of dancing and lots or laughs.

When we all realized that we were dying of heat we decided to call it quits on the club and head to our next location, THE BEACH. We decided it would be fun to SKINNY DIP in LAKE GENEVA at 2:30 in the morning.  Now a lot of people would say that def. is not safe and you are probably right but when you are high on life and living in the moment, none of that matters!!!!

Skinny dipping is something I have never done before, it was def the highlight of the night.  Poor Brittany was all tuckered out by the time we got home, that she passed out pretty much soon as she hit the couch.  Watch the progression of the following 3 pictures.

Over all this weekend was an EPIC one and one to be remembered forever.  It was full of many firsts and spent with amazing friends who if I didnt have them, I would be going absolutely INSANE.  I love my life and I am high on it.  Anna, and I just met on Saturday and I already consider her a dear friend.  She studies in Glasgow and when I go there in September she will be there, and we will get to see each other.  I'm really looking forward to her showing me around :)  I will be staying with family but it will be fun to hang out with a dear friend as well!! :)

8 days until Helsinki, Finland
59 days until London, England
76 days until Glasgow, Scotland
.83 days until I GO HOME

With love;
Jennifer :)
