Snakes, snakes, and more snakes; big snakes, small snakes, friendly snakes, killer snakes, cute snakes, ugly snakes all sorts of snakes. That is what I saw today snakes from all around the world; snakes from Mexico to Australia, from Brazil to Africa, from the USA to Asia. Certain ones I would not EVER want to come across for fear that they will eat me like the anaconda or the rattle snake.
My day started out with getting up at 7:30 with the girls, and we played in their playhouse and did puzzles and had breakfast. At 10:30 when I was finished work, I headed into the main land and caught the bus, I made a friend on the bus; the bus driver. He’s a really nice guy and we chatted while we waited for the bus to leave the stop since my stop is the first one on the route. When I got to the center of town I headed for my fifth walking tour. I started and it was an interesting walk at first, I got to this church and it seriously looked like a UFO or an alien ship, I’m not kidding. Then from there I went on walking along the route when I got about half way finished the walk started getting boring, nothing really interesting to see, plus it was extremely hot so I didn’t want to walk anywhere, so I quit, walked to the next bus stop and went back to the center of town. From there I headed to Tropicario to see the reptiles. It was a neat place to visit and it is somewhere I think the kids again, would enjoy just like the sealife place. They had snakes from all over the world and facts about them as well. Did you know that an anaconda can grow up to 6m long, and they have been known to eat jaguars, well if you didn’t know that, now you do! When I was finished there, I headed home since it was around 4:00 and the water grocery boat comes at 5:00 and I wanted be home in time for it. I got home in time for the boat and me and the girls got our ice cream cones which by the time the boat comes and we open the ice creams, they are pretty melted and soggy but delicious none-the-less. Tonight for dinner we all went to Mummi’s place for dinner and everyone was invited even me!!! For dinner we had homemade Indian veggie curry, and usually I’m not one to like vegetarian type meals but this meal was delicious. I think everyone had three plates of curry. I could have had more but there was none left. We all filled up on cheese and bread afterwards, a little weird for me since usually we have the cheese and bread before dinner, not after. Then for dessert we had yummy cheesecake and almond cake, with blueberries and raspberries. One thing that everyone should know is I have been corrupted!!! Before coming to Switzerland I wouldn’t touch blueberries, or raspberries, but since coming to Switzerland I have started eating nectarines, apricots, blueberries and raspberries. My mother would be so proud!! Then we just sat around and talked, 3 different languages were going on; French, Finnish and English.
One thing I have noticed about being in Finland is that it’s very bilingual. A lot of people, well more like everyone speaks English. It is nice since this is a major tourist area, but even in the not so touristy areas, people still speak English really, really well.
I really like it here in Finland, aside from the heat; it’s a really beautiful city, and like Geneva very easy to get around. You would walk the entire city in a day.
