Day two :)

Today was my first official full day in Helsinki, Finland. It is definitely going to take time getting use to it being light out around the clock. I had such a hard time falling asleep because the sun was still on the horizon at 11:30 at night. See my facebook for picture. I finally fell asleep, only to wake up at 3:30 in the morning with light beaming though my windows. I thought it was like 7:00 in the morning. It was really neat to see. Tonight I think if I wake up that late in the night, I will definitely take a picture to show you, if not tonight, then one night while I am here I will. Today was a lot cooler then I am used to since its been SOOO hot in Geneva, I ended up wearing pants and a sweatshirt most of the day due to the high winds causing it to be a little cooler then I am used too. I read a lot today, finished my book and started another one. I love taking my book and camera and sitting on the dock or the rocks and reading and listening to the waves crash on the shore and boats going back and forth and not hearing cars and horns and trains, although the only thing you can hear is sirens from emergency vehicles; it’s very peaceful, I love it. This afternoon we went “shopping” on the grocery boat. This boat is so neat, it’s a boat that comes to certain docks certain days of the week; so for us its Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00. They have tons of food and treats and fruit to buy so you don’t even have to leave the island to go grocery shopping and everything is quite fairly priced. I didn’t leave the island today but tomorrow if the wind has died down, I will hopefully get a lesson on how to drive the little motor boat and I can go into town as I please and not have someone drive me across the lake every day. I like my independence. I want to get into town tomorrow so I can get a feel of the town and get familiar with the buses and such. Tonight I put the kids to bed for Nina and it’s amazing how differently they act for me and for Nina. They went straight to sleep (plus a threat) and didn’t bother each other unlike last night, Nina had to remove Alice from the room because Azadeh would not let her sleep and kept bothering her. So tonight I put them to bed and they went straight to sleep, I’m that good hehehe.

Good night from Finland

Love ME
