These are just a few of the missions I hope to complete while I am here. They aren’t outrageous like go bungee jumping or sky diving but they are all manageable. I have completed two missions today. The town is pretty Americanized; what country aren’t these days aside from Switzerland. They have a HUGE mall that is like five floors tall.
Today I learned how to drive the little motor boat, man I was freaking out the entire time but I think I can manage on my own. The drive in only like 500m to the shore and you can see the docks from the island. I asked to be taught so that way I can be a little more independent and not rely on people to take me onto the main land. I can come and go as I please.
I finally got into town today. They have only ONE metro that takes you right into the center of town and then from there you can walk, take the bus/tram or bike everywhere. I didn’t go far today since I was on a time schedule I was limited as to where I went and what I did. I thought there was more than one metro, come to find out when I got home, that there is only ONE metro...wow am I stupid or what. Tomorrow I will venture out a little farther since I know now that there is just the one metro and won’t walk around like a lost tourist looking for other metros. For lunch I made it a mission to find me a Subway and that I did. I was extremely happy that I found it, the last time I had it was in Barcelona. It was yummy to say the least. When I was done lunch I was way to frustrated to go anywhere else since I didn’t know about the one metro situation so I sat in Subway and figured out where on the map certain places were and stuff like that.
When I got back to the island, I had to work for a couple of hours, so to keep the kids away from Nina so she could rest I told them that they could paint themselves which Azadeh went for since I am constantly telling her to stop drawing on herself so today I allowed it, since the sea was right there and we could wash off in the water.
For dinner tonight we had this soup called “summer soup” (it’s not really summer soup, just summer veggies in it) and OMG it was DELICIOUS. There were onions, carrot and cauliflower in it and the stalk or juice part of it was a cream sauce and I added fresh dill, Tabasco sauce and pepper and eventually cheese and OMG it was awesome. I had 3 huge bowls of it!!
So far the week has gone really well. Alice loves it here, and Azadeh I think is still getting used to being here and isn’t quite comfortable yet. Alice remembers stuff from last year whereas Azadeh doesn’t so that makes a huge difference in behaviour.
Time to go and do some reading and such
Love ME
P.S. I can’t post any more pictures on FB until I get home, since it uses to much megabytes to load them to the internet. Be prepared for lots of pictures.
